Disgaea 2 is very similar to the first game, a lighthearted and humorous self-referential turn based strategy game, with a lot of content, and likely a lot of grinding if you want to explore all of that content. Battles are fought by choosing your character and moving them in the order you want and can use queued orders for combo attacks. Everything is capable of being levelled up, you will unlock new classes or monsters units and stronger versions of those classes can be gained, you can level up abilities by using them to give you access to more powerful and costly versions with higher effects or more range, you can level up the equipment that your characters use. I've never been a big fan of the actual gameplay, the grindy nature of the game if you want to access higher level and end game content, and I didn't enjoy the characters as much as the ones in the first. A lot of content is also recycled. If you want an ok strategy game with some fun characters and a lot of content this will be a good purchase.
