What a game!

I originally purchased this game around the time that the sequel - Euro Truck Simulator 2 - was getting rave reviews. So why not buy the sequel? Because it was priced ten times more and - reviews aside - it seemed doubtful I would enjoy a game where I tediously drove a truck down highways avoiding traffic hauling cargo. At least, I thought, the first game would give me an idea if I could even stomach the genre. And if it did, well only then would I consider paying the price for the sequel. I was surprised out how engaging this game was. Perhaps because it stood in such stark contrast to all my other driving games (the Need For Speed series, Burnout Paradise, and similar), but there was something very relaxing and enjoyable about driving between the lanes, making a point not to speed (much) and slam into other cars. It was almost zenlike. The graphics might not be particularly impressive but they got the point across, and the AI of the other cars was pleasantly non-aggressive. Figuring out the best routes to take and what cargos to deliver was not particularly challenging but it was relaxing, and a welcome change from the ordinary. Sadly, that's not enough to sustain the game, at least not for me. Having advanced three tiers and played over twenty hours, the lack of variety is increasingly noticeable. All the highways and cities more or less look the same and the challenge is flat throughout. So while it was a wonderful ride up to this point, it wasn't enough to keep me playing until the nominal "end" of the simulation. However, it /was/ enough to get me interested in the sequel, which apparently adds extra content and gameplay. And since that was the whole point of my playing this game in the first place, I consider it time and money well spent.

I mean, it looks nice.

I honestly just don't get this one. The environments are nice to drive around and look at. If you're in the right mindset, it can be cool to learn the intricacies of operating a slightly larger motor vehicle, I guess. It handles smoothly and it's designed well. There's just no fun to be had for me, at all. I can't wrap m mind around the love that this series has.

The Best Truck Simulation game

Euro truck's simulator graphic is not really good, but it doesn't matter, the game is amazing, you can drive trucks in the most important european cities to bring loads for some companies to earn virtual money to buy another truck or develop the one that you have. I like this game for the relax that gives me, but it isn't my favourite game. I give this game a 80%

Very immersive

Graphics aren't as good as Euro Truck Simulator 2, but we all know graphics aren't the most important thing. With this truck simulator you will be able to travel through Europe and its most important cities, deliver cargos and try to drive as good as possible. Else, you'll get an offence! This is a very good and entertaining game.

One of the best truck sim

This is by far one of the best truck simulation that is available in the market beside its sequel. You have different set of scenario that as a player to play which instructed you to drive from point A to point B, how to get there is up to you. During your drive you will visit many European cities and roads. One great aspect is the varieties of trucks that are available for the player to drive. Downside, the game have been released for a long time already so it has aged a lot and the graphic will not be as great as its sequel. But if you are looking for a relaxing experience where you can just drive from places to places then this is the game for you. A great time sink for anyone who just wants to take a break from their genre and play something different.
