"FlatOut does everything an arcade racer should do, and admirably too. It's fast, it's fun and yes, it's dumb, but that's one of the reasons we like it." - IGN

Still an awesome racing game. Unlike other racing games, even when you are losing, you can still get something from a race by smashing the crap out of your opponents for money. It has GFWL, but rumors of GFWL's demise have been greatly exaggerated. As of time of writing, it still works fine and you can still play multiplayer. Only bad point - the sound track is absolutely awful.
This is a great game. I bought DiRT Rally, and didn't really like it. I really like racing sims, but I guess not full on racing sims. This is a little more arcade-y than DiRT rally, but as far as I'm concerned offers enough of a challenge, without being too "true to reality" The problems come with the performance aspects of the game. I have a PC that should easily run this game at full settings. Somehow, I can only run this on medium, which is OK, the game looks great. The problem is, no matter which settings I run it at, I get 45-60 fps if I'm lucky. As far as the actual game, it's really good. The rally races are fun, and I love the rally cross events. But for some reason the game is littered with "Gymkhana" events. Now idk if it's just me, and it very well could be, but I HATE these events. They're not fun, and they seem to be put in for those who are truly into the arcade aspect of these games. I realize after typing a whole essay worth of review, that this game is 5 years old and nobody will read this anyway, but if you're stumbling across this and wondering whether to buy it, consider this, I paid $2.49 for this game and I'm still having trouble recommending it. I will though, because the rally and rally-x events are really good, when the game is running properly, that is.
Do you play this game like a normal racing game, and go for the best time, or do you let your dark side come through, and indulge in what this game does so well - and take out everybody that you can, I have played other racing games that allow you to collide with other cars (some good, some really bad), but none of them are as much fun as this game is. From the great graphics, to the amusing driver ejections, to the delicious carnage you create, this game hits all the right buttons for a driving / demolition type game. Even when you need to beat the best lap time, you still find yourself looking for every chance to cut off, and destroy all the other cars, and the funny thing is that it never gets old. Even after hours and hours of play time, you still get a thrill from being the "bad guy". This is a very good racing game (really about as good as some of the best out there) that is just made better by such wonderful explosions. The controls are well done, and give you a great feel as you drive. The various tracks are really well made, and each offer a unique and fun experience. There is also a great demolition mode (yup, forget racing, let's just focus on destroying other vehicles for a while). On top of everything else, this game also offers some crazy (and yet so much fun) mini-games. For example, in one of them you have to crash, and control the projectory angle of your driver as he flies throght the air to score points on a giant Bingo-like board. Unlocking new mini-games is just another great feature of this game
This game is by far the best in the Flatout series! New characters, new vehicles new and old tracks and of course the best arena's to do some derby's in and there are so many customizations you can do to your car to make it a badass racing/destruction car/truck. the wrecks you can do in the arena and on tracks is intense and super fun if you have a choice of all the flatout games this is the one to get :)!
This is the game we all wanted from the first two. it still looks stunning to this day, the mechanics from the first two are all perfected, the intensity is at least doubled, and its a huge game. There are tons of cars to choose from an so many things to wreck on every track, as well as mini-games that are fun and often times hilarious. This is the best non-Burnout arcade racing game.
