For genre fans only

You should play this game if you are a point and click fan who is looking for a light hearted story with lots of object based puzzles and amusing dialogue. The production is excellent. The visuals and voice acting are really high quality. The puzzle design is good at first: it is logically sound and the basic interface means you won't get stuck for long. However the puzzle quality diminishes through the game. You still are not likely to get very stuck but by the last two chapters you'll find yourself resorting to trial and error. You should avoid if you are expecting a difficult puzzle game or any kind of involved plot. It is a children's cartoon made into an adventure game and does well as that. It will keep grown ups amused with the amusing dialogue and mostly well designed puzzles but its really best for kids.

Falls short in a few areas but makes good use of some unique abilities and has good graphics and acting

Haunted is an adventure game with supernatural elements that seems like it would have a more serious or gruesome focus but it ends up being more comical. In addition to the usual inventory objects that you will sue to solve puzzles and progress the story you also have ghosts that travel with you that each have their own unique abilities that you will frequently be making use of. These abilities can include touching items that you wouldn't normally be able to handle, the ability to change the form of their body, or being very strong but only being able to interact with objects that have had a certain history. The game has good voice acting and graphics for being a lower budget game. Like many adventure games it does suffer from the problem of trying to be funny too often and just not always succeeding at it. Some of the puzzles are also fairly obvious or are given away by the dialogue of the characters. The graphics and use of the ghosts are good even though the characters and humour can fall flat. Worth a look for fans of adventure games.
