This game looks nice, but it's average in every way. The controls are alright, but don';t feel very satisfying. The gameplay is dull, and the art style even drops in quality in some areas. It may be worth a buy if you want a solid co-op beat-em-up, but if you have one or don't desperately need one, I'd pass.
I know Kung Fu! And you can, too, if you play this game! It is hard and challenging but that is why it will make you feel like a badass since you will be giving your foes a lesson they won't soon forget. In this game you will be doing some crazy stuff and also feel like you are in control. Controller more than recommended, a gamepad, I mean. Haven't tried the coop yet, but it should be a blast! Note that this is not an AAA title but more like AA. Still, a great experience!
Like old arcade 2d beat em ups such as double dragon you will encounter with so many enemies and again and again .But mechanics like blocking, dodging, chi moves and some item upgrades keep the gameplay fresh an very enjoyable. Also there are many enemies types and bosses those need some strategies to be beaten. The game is deep enough by it's gameplay but levels and enemies are a bit repetitive and sometimes the game is unfairly difficult but also the game has local coop mode that makes the difficulty reasonable.Graphics are decent enough and some effects are well crafted.Kung Fu Strike is a solid beat em up game for pc and so enjoyable especially in co-op mode and there is a lot of reason to play all levels again.
Kung fu Strike is a 2d beat 'em up game. Though it's not a bad game, but yes it is flawed and riddled with a handful of poor mechanic choices by the developers. The fighting evolves around quick reactions and countering and can sometimes be very statisfying but the mechanics cheat the player a lot. The game often makes you miss your big attack by having it go off in the wrong direction. It also has a tendency to fill the screen with lot of bad guys making some of the stages extremely difficult. The plot is a mess of martial art stereotypes and goes from simply bad to hilariously dumb in a few cutscenes. You have the old master, the busty female assassin and of course our generic protagonist. While there are many types of opponents, like the swordman, the kickmaster, the big guy, the backstabbing assassin and more which are quite interesting to fight against, you are stuck with the same old character who just develops very slightly over the course of the story which is very underwhelming for a game belonging to this genre. Like I already stated, it's not a bad game at all, but I myself can only recommend it to people who are looking for a challenge and are not so much into co-op or storytelling, you can instead look at Castle Crashers or the Shank series for that.
Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise brings us a travel to the past. I have a really good memories from Beat' em up games like Street of Rage, Golden Axe, Captain Commando...The mechanic of the game is very simple: give punches and kicks to everybody. You can play alone or with a friend. The game has graphics very similar to Street Fighter, but with a chinese influence. Kung Fu Strike will be always a challenge because even on easy mode is so hard. But, on the other hand, it's very easy to dominate the controls and make amazing combos. If you like Beat' em up games, take it. You won't regret.
