Max Payne was a pioneer for the entire genre!

Max Payne never gets old! this game is without a doubt my most memorable game ever! I always remember the dark and deep atmosphere of the game, and I always could hear police sirens almost all over the game. Max Payne defined how a third person action shooter should be and with it's complete fresh and innovative gameplay managed to be the pioneer of its genre. it also introduce bullet time mechanism for the first time and I was really fascinated with that, you could jump in the air like Hollywood movies and shoot your enemies , seriously what more could you expect from a game! the story telling was really unique too and it was like you are living in a dark comic book, If you haven't get a chance to play this masterpiece of Remedy you should definitely get it at all cost although the visuals may seem a little aged but the narrative and the gameplay covers it completely! 100% recommended!

Milestone in gaming!

The first part of Max Payne was an amazing experience once it was released and sadly it was meant only for a limited number of players who owned a beefy PC. Once I upgraded mine I was so happy I was able to play it and I must admit the game was amazing back in the day. Graphics and gameplay were groundbreaking and if anybody would like how we played in the early 2000s this is a gaming milestone everyone should try.

Game of Childhood 10/10

Gritty, and action packed! This game introduced the revolutionary slow motion capture in videogames like the movies that the Matrix first started. Max Payne is cop on the run after being framed for a murder he did not commit is being chased by fellow cops who want revenge and the mob who know he personally have had a hand in putting away others just like them. This game is a great thrill and on the edge experience. Has a great protagonist who is kind of the anti hero and is easy to root for.Plot twists happen along the way on your search for justice. Many different weapons to choose from that very fun to use. Was one of the first games that included great looking textures with realistic facial expressions.

perfectly perfect!

90/100 Max Payne is a prime example of a game that actually shows the capabilities of the medium as a storytelling device. It has characters you care for, good (if a bit hammy) voice acting and an excellent presentation to boot. The story is tight and feels just like a noir flick. It's cheesy at times for sure but it's all tongue-in-cheek and tiptoes between this more silly tone and the genuinely gripping more serious parts that delve into the psyche of Max as a character. The gameplay is also excellent with the, at the time very innovative, use of the bullet time mechanic. This doesn't make Max some sort of superhero but is rather an extension of the gunplay and will require careful planning as well as fast reflexes as you die from just a handful of bullets. It can be a tricky game at times but it always feels rewarding when you beat a particularly difficult section. However, the later parts of the game has a couple of cheap enemy placements which does bring down the end product a bit. Despite this, Max Payne is one of the best third-person shooters I can think of and is overall a must-play.

One of the most imaginative and innovative yet simple third person shooter out there.

Max Payne is replete with a great soundtrack that complements the in game experience. The story told the comic book style in terms of pages is beautiful. You start connecting and being haunted by Max's choices and the work he has cut out for himself. The bullet time shooting is simply outstanding and makes for a second replay of the game. I have played this game twice now and admit that this is a serious action game with a great story line. You are Max Payne, out to avenge and investigate the murder of your wife and daughter. In the process, you end up destroying most of the NYC's corrupt, thugs and criminal masterminds. The best parts of the games are when Max talks to himself during the game and how he actually blasts foes using 2 uzis and rolls over to cover. The enemy is very smart and responsive. The only little complaint would be in terms of the prologue mission in game which in my opinion are kind of meaningless. That said, this is a game, that every action fan worth his salt should play.
