Seeking adventure, young American Simon Bukner joins the British army in war-torn Europe of 1916. During a particularly ferocious battle, Bukner and his battalion are pushed into a series of dark trenches where they encounter mysterious phenomenon.
NecroVisioN: Lost Company:
NecroVisioN: Lost Company is the prequel to the old-school horror FPS which covers the events that happened before the NecroVisioN story began. The game contains several unique levels, characters, weapons and gameplay elements, as well as a new main hero that tells the original game story from an opposing perspective.
Necrovision Hardcore Pack includes both the original title and its sequel Lost Company, which is a prequel to the events of the first game. NecroVisioN is an FPS set during WWI that starts with you in the trenches but quickly starts to involve zombies, magic, demons, and other monsters. The game allows you to use a variety of guns and explosives, do melee attacks, kick, and activate a slow motion mode that you can charge up through combat. You can also duel wield combinations of guns, melee weapons, and explosives. Your character gives frequent bad one liners as you kill enemes and as you get kills you will see Call of Duty/Halo style messages on the screen telling you you got headshots, different kinds of melee kills, etc. It could have been a really enjoyable game but the gunplay just isn't fun, the weapons tend to feel weak, there's not enough weight to the combat, enemy reactions to getting hit is not satisfying, and some of the WWI weapon just doesn't seem to fit well with this style of game. You can find letters from soldiers to their families which also just seems like a strange touch. You start doing some strange looking execution moves at times that might have you firing your pistols sideways and enemies will start taking visual damage in areas that you didn't even hit them. There seem to be frequent hit detection issues. The visuals aren't very good but they also frequently seem blurry and can make it very difficult to locate enemies. There are frequent glitches with enemies getting stuck in walls, constantly running into objects, or floating in the air. You start getting more interesting weapons later in the game. It's almost a so bad it's good game but I think it's just a little too bad for it to make it. NecroVisioN Lost Company is an FPS game set in World War 1 but adds a lot of monsters and undead to fight, the game serves as a prequel to the events of the original NecroVisioN with you playing as one of that game's antagonists. I feel like this one is an improvement on the first with a better opening, it gives you a better variety of guns more quickly, it seems to have less glitches, and it has a much less annoying main character. The actual shooting still isn't very satisfying though and the enemies get boring to fight, even with the game's melee, combo, and slow motion system. It's basically a B movie in video game form but it just isn't able to remain interesting all the time.
Necrovision series are a WWI FPS and it's very scripted like many FPS titles these days, but still has many old school features like picking up armor pieces and health packs and ammo everywhere (much like Wolfenstein , Duke Nukem and Painkiller) and you have a big arsenal where you can literally pickup 6 or 7 types of weapons ranging from sub machine guns to sniper rifles and pistols, shotguns however only exists in the second game , the story features a supernatural zombie outbreak during World War I and you fight as a German soldier , it's linear with bits of open areas here and there, you can dual wield pistols or even a melee and a pistol at the same time , pick up riot shields with a pistol in your hand and kick or bash with your hand which i find very cool , the graphics and animations are decent but not top notch , they do well to set the creepy atmosphere , there are boss fights that are very hard but break up the pace , it's a very fun and casual game if you play on normal difficultly , this bundle is totally worth picking up .
