Game description

Neon Chrome is a ruthless twin-stick top-down shooter with procedurally generated levels and destructible environment. Blast your way through walls with guns and special abilities and try alternate approaches with different roles. Upgrade your character stats permanently and become more powerful after each death. Discover new enhancements each run and build up strength to defeat the bosses. Finally you'll be powerful enough to stop the Overseer. With procedurally generated levels every death is a new beginning - the path to stopping the Overseer is never the same.

Neon Chrome was created by 10tons - the company behind the cult hit game Crimsonland.

Use your looted credits to permanently improve your stats like health, luck and damage. Your character also improves with guns and cybernetics during a run. Visit your nearest upgrade station and select from a choice of over four dozen enhancements. The enhancements range from health and protection improvements to defense and assault systems - and far beyond.

After each death the game will generate a completely new path always ending in a final showdown. The Overseer controlling everything trusts his obedient minions to end your journey before you reach him. Your path will be a mix of randomly generated futuristic environments and hand crafted challenges.

Before each run you choose one of three randomized "assets". The asset is a unique combination of role, weapon, and ability. Each one a bit different - everyone as good as dead. They will have all your permanent stat improvements in addition to their original qualities. The sneaky assassin with mines or the robust corp soldier with incendiary grenades? The choice is up to you.

Almost everything in Neon Chrome can be destroyed with weapons or cybernetic abilities. You'll shoot through walls, make rooms explode, and obliterate whole floors while blasting your way through the building.

Overcome the latest killing solutions ranging from armed security to lethal assault drones and cyborgs. The building hosts a small army and even devastating military robots. To make your way to the top you also need to overcome handcrafted combat and puzzle challenges.

If your friends would like to help you bringing down the Overseer Neon Chrome supports 2-4 players in local co-op!

Armed with your skills, weapons, and cybernetic abilities you'll have a fighting chance of stopping the Overseer. Go on, venture into the Neon Chrome and remember: Death is always a new procedurally generated beginning.

Top Down Difficult twin stick shooter!

I should say this from the start that I may be bias because I am a HUGE twin stick shooter fan. If it's a twinstick/top down shooter I try it. This has become one of my favorites. At the start of every game you can choose the worker you want to play with each having its own set of skills and guns. The thing which I really like is that its not the same every game/death. The guns and skills change per char. type each death, and there is a lot of them. It makes for a huge variety of choices. On top of that every level will be different. If you die and play the same stage over, it will be completely different. As you advance through the stages you upgrade your characters universal stats, you do not lose those after death. So in theory the more you die the stronger you will become. I thought it would mean the game getting easier but that is not quite the case. It will not happen over a few deaths. The skills you upgrade do help and will make it easier but it takes a while. All and all I really enjoy playing this game. I keep coming back to it and getting a little further. Some of the boss stages prove to be quite the task. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have!

Great game for rogue-like fans

This game is an exceptional good rogue-like cyberpunk game that has a lot of replay value and exploration value of the game. The game is ruthless and unforgiving at times, which just makes the game better all together making you need to be more precious with your shooting. The game seems to fall at it's bad AI and the same look of the graphics. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to rogue-like lovers!

A good cyberpunk themed twin stick shooter

Neon Chrome is a cyberpunk themed top down twin stick shooter that procedurally generated the levels you will play through. You can install different cybernetics that will do things like increase your health, melee attack damage, speed, a combination of stats, etc and find different weapons. Upgrades and weapons can also be bought with money that you find in the levels. You will take control of different characters with their own specialties such as a soldier who can defend himself better, an assassin who has a stealth ability, and a hacker who can more easily open things. In addition to the enemies you will also have traps to bypass spread around the environment. Boss fights are good and offer a challenge, having three different increasingly difficult stages to the fight and they have you fighting larger or more unique enemies. The visuals and animations of characters and enemies are bland, and their design isn't very interesting, but the shots of the weapons and possible destruction of the environment look good. Depending on how good you are at the genre the game might require some grinding for upgrades in order for you to succeed. The game has also been receiving balance updates and some new additions. If you are a fan of the genre it is worth picking up, though the cyberpunk setting isn't that interesting aside from relating to some of the upgrades you can get.
