Bass Fighting is one of the best parts of this game!

jacki_leonard

Let me tell you, In terms of graphics, Owlboy has nothing less! and is officially one of the most beautiful Pixel Art games you can see in your life. The graphics of different game areas and landscapes are really a masterpiece, and even the changing the size of angles of sight at some levels did not effect on its quality. Even while playing, you can see the change in the climate over time, or you may encounter weather changes such as fogging. The game's animations are also very elaborate, and you can easily understand the feelings of the characters during the cut-scenes. On the other hand, music of the game, shines. A soundtrack made by Jonathan Geer (who previously worked on other games like Neon Chrome) is one of the best soundtracks of this year. Every part of the game and every phase of the fights with bosses has its own special theme, which is perfectly compatible with the atmosphere of the scenes as well as the conditions of the struggle. Perhaps the only downside that can be found about this soundtrack is that the list of the music of this game is surprisingly containing story spoilers. Owlboy has been the work of almost nine years, but the final product is not disappointing, and is undoubtedly one of the best games this year that everyone should play. Although the game has some annoying issues, it does not prevent players from enjoying the game at all, and its experience will still be enjoyable.

Old 2D classics platformers games are back to stay

LightWolfDM

Owlboy is a 16-bits 2D platformer game that was in development during 10 years and now that is out, the game is a gem for indie games and for those 16-bits games that honours the older games of the 80's and 90's. Owlboy is a puzzle and adventure game, you're Otus, an owl apprentice that can't talk, he is muted. You and Otus friend must go and stop the pirates from destroying everything. Recommended. The 2D platformers games are back to stay.

Man-bear-owl!

gmgtochuje

Owlboy is a 16bit style action adventure whos main protagonist is mute half boy half owl named Otus. Frankly speaking when I looked at the screenshots I imagined something more linear from what I get but I don't mind since the end product is fun nevertheless, it's more open but the retro charm remains. The music is very good if you like ambient track.

I believe I can Fly

KingTed

Owlboy lets us play as Otus, a kid with Owl wings who is chasing the Sky pirates that stole his village's artefact. It's an action-adventure game which feels a lot like Zelda or Metroid but with the ability to fly around the map. Otus can grab items and allies in order to use them in battle and to solve puzzles. It's a very fun but also unforgiving game which beautiful visuals and soundtrack. It's just excellent.
