This is a remaster of an old third person shooter. There are some places it nails everything. The environmental design is colorful and crisp and all the retextured models look great. Polygon counts have been bumped up. The gameplay is largely solid too. You are a heavily armed soldier with choices of cool sci-fi weapons and gadgets to use. However the controls are a bit finicky. They included many options to rebind, but I was never able to find one that completely satisfied me. I enjoyed my experience though.
Rogue Trooper was a game from 2006. It was a fine stealth/action/tactical third person shooter (TPP/TPS, whatever you want to call it) and one of the best games based on 2000AD comics. It was waiting for a remaster and to a degree, it is pretty good for what it does. Graphics are remade and it looks amazing, OST and sound is also pretty good, but problem starts with the gameplay. While graphics are all nice and shiny in all of its remastered glory, the game itself plays exactly like it's 2006 again. Considering there is not that much new content in it, the price of admission looks pretty high, especially since it is all about the graphics. Overall, if you're a fan of the original, buy it this instant, you won't regret it at all, because it will be the same beloved game, only looking better. If you're just looking for hot new game to play with all the today's QoL improvements, you will be solely disappointed. If you don't care and just like playing good games, you can't go wrong with it, really, but the price is pretty steep, so I would consider waiting for a sale.
