Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena is part of the hidden object and puzzle game genre and is the first game in the Samantha Swift series. The plot is somewhat similar to the first Indiana Jones movie, where you find a treasure, have it taken by a rival, and then learn about something even better to go hunting for. You will need to collect the right items in each scene to progress the game, lightning bolts hidden in the scene will give you hints. Special hidden objects in some scenes are added to a museum menu but serve no other purpose than to be collected for completion sake. Tools can be used to remove or change objects in the environment for you to find what you are looking for and items will be found that need to be combined with things in the environment. Many of the puzzles are matching the correct pieces of items to their correct positions, the puzzles are all very simple. The story scenes are better animated that most hidden object games I have played and seen played but there is no voiced dialogue. The game is pretty short and with little difficulty to be had from the puzzles this is a game suited more for a younger audience.
