The Hive is story-driven fantasy game. Assume control as the Insectoid Hive mind. Captivating back-story and a beautiful visual design takes the player to a fantasy world, which offers new surprises and challenges as the game progresses.
Through strong storytelling and a broad world, Hive offers the player a diverse exploration ground. Having many different endings and possibilities, the player can create their own unique route, strategy, and story.
The barren and deserted surface of planet Eden hides springs full of life underground. Travel through ancient temple cities, sunken ruins, desert oasis, swamps, volcanoes and underground fountains, facing the dangers of the environment, floods and other species.
The calming serenity of the blooming springs, the aggressive heat of volcanoes and the ruins holding a story of a sad history make up the world of Hive. Filled with exotic animals, plants of varying sizes and little details like colorful fish swimming in the springs and hieroglyphs in the ruins, this game offers a wide and interesting visual look while combining many different styles of environments and eras.
This would be great game if it would be finished and added more content and controls. + *great graphics *story is ok *sound is good *idea of the game *you can gather equipment from enemy and equip your hero or any unit group in your army or salvage it to get new units or upgrades. - *bad controls *only 10 missions *worst thing is you can't save the game, so if you lose mission at it's last objective, you have to start over.
The Hive is a story focused RTS and RPG hybrid that has you playing as an insect like hive mind, it has recently released after being in early access for over a year. The RTS elements are quite weak, you are able to build units and mine resources but your control options are limited, the AI is very poor or seemingly nonexistent, you don't have an easy way to select all of one type of unit or to cycle through them, and your enemies don't really expand their forces, create new bases, or use any kind of tactics. Where the RPG elements come in is with the simple objectives you have on each maps, equipment that can be acquired with each unit being able to have up to six items, neutral factions that guard loot that you can fight, units and items can be carried over between levels, and items can be traded off to get upgrades that will carry over. The art style does look good when it comes to maps and units and the audio is also good for an indie title. Aside from the art and sound the game's RTS and RPG features are so light and uninteresting that it is likely not going to be worth trying.
