Brilliant!

Makikuki

A complex and touching story, presented as an interactive intellectual experience. Not a game as such - do not expect any action or horror. This is more like reading a book, much is left to the imagination, while the beautiful urban exploration-like environment is providing a truly immersive atmosphere. For similar experiences, "Dear Esther" comes to mind. However, I feel that The Town of Light is a much more satisfying experience. I really enjoyed every minute of this thoughtful masterpiece for grown-ups.

A different type of horror

lconanl

The Town of Light is a gripping game where you can get sucked into the story and feel compassionate. One experiences the story from the perspective of Ren?e, who was admitted to a mental hospital as a young girl. The story plays after her release, when she returns to the institution. Everything is very detailed and you are dragged into a carefully crafted story , so you become unsure if you're experience is real or what Ren?e possibly just imagines. One learns a lot about everyday life in one of the healing centers of the time - which is very shocking, that healing is not the priority The graphics and the wonderful music are superb, every time you go through the institution there is a queasy, uncomfortable feeling, which offers the perfect atmosphere. There are many different chapters, something which makes the game very varied. A little gripe though - you can get through the game in a just a few hours; however, as already mentioned, the many chapters make it definitely worth your time and money There are only a few bugs, mostly small graphics errors, but these hardly affect the game. If you're looking for something interesting and not too long, this should be right up your alley.

Good and challenging horror title.

The Town of Light is a game that offers beautiful and polished and refined to the smallest details locations, wonderful music, extremely disturbing atmosphere and ambitious, mature storyline. Mandatory position for horror fans who are not afraid overcoming some challenges along the way as this game can be difficult at times.

Mind Games

I picked this up a few months ago based on a recommendation by a friend, and what I got was an interesting narrative wrapped up in a dark history. You take control of Ren?e who was admitted to a psychiatric ward many years ago and decides to revisit, except this time the ward is abandoned and you try to investigate what happened in the past. In terms of story, this game is pretty dark, taking place in a real ward in Tuscany. The atmosphere created is unnerving and sure to grip you, but the only reason I wouldn't score this higher is due to the linearity of the game. It's not exciting, but it will take you out of your comfort zone. If you want something different to play, give this a shot.
