Game description

Worlds of Magic is a 4X turn-based strategy game. Players can explore and conquer an almost limitless number of procedurally generated universes, using military and magical power to overcome their foes. Found cities, raise armies, research and cast spells, hire powerful heroes, and create powerful magical artifacts. All will help you in your bid to become the supreme Sorcerer Lord.

Create your own sorcerer lord:

  • Customize your own Sorcerer Lord to rule the empire or choose a pre-generated character. Select from 13 spell circles that will determine which of the over 400 spells your lord can learn.

  • Choose from over 40 disciplines that give your lord specific advantages or disadvantages.

  • Pick one of 8 races to be the first in your empire.

Explore unique multiverse:

  • Seven Planes of Existence all with their own special features.

  • Select the size of the universe and customize the planes.

  • Each plane can be up to 128x128 world tiles.

  • Over 40 types of world features filled with guardians and loot.

Expands to increase your power

  • Over 50 different kinds of buildings to improve your settlements.

  • Over 100 unique military units to recruit and magical creatures to summon.

  • Found new settlements to increase your empire's power.

  • Conquer neutral and enemy cities to extend your borders.

Exploit the universe to your advantage:

  • 12 types of terrain spread throughout the planes, each offering their own benefits.

  • Over 25 different world resources that can improve production or be used to craft artifacts.

  • Capture cities of different races in order to add their military units to your armies.

  • Use diplomacy to get an edge over your enemies.

Exterminate your foes:

  • Play out combat on a tactical battle board or auto-calculate to save time.

  • Hire heroes and equip them with magical weapons and armor.

  • Units gain experience and become more powerful as they achieve victory after victory.

  • Use tactical, strategic, and global spells to destroy your enemies.

Too bugged to be enjoyable

I bought this game because I played its predecesor, which I enjoyed. The game itself is promising and it can have great potential but I don't recommend to buy it. It´s way too bugged to be an enjoyable game, the game crashes a lot, some game mechanics does not even function, stupid AI (in current state its a child play to play it on hardest difficulty) etc. The positive thing is the devs are trying hard to fix it so I recommend to wait a half a year, or so, and then you should reconsider buying depending on the future state of the game. Because of these bugs and glitches I rate 40.

A good sequel

It's the sequel of Master of Magic, and it really fits with nowadays's standards. Of course, MoM and the sequel are quite different in some ways, like: The spell book section. It's really random(i guess) and you will need to look at the internet for most of it, like how you rank and obtain more spells. Other is this - you can make artifacts without actually casting overland spells, which means you can do both separately at the same time. The unit attributes are more complex and complicated, which is something.. annoying. TL:DR:Overall, it's a good sequel, has a lot of content, obviously better to be different, not a lame re-skin(like CoD franchise) and is still in early access, which is actually good, because it will get even better at release. I am not sure if now or later is better to buy it, but, your choice.
