Deathloop is the upcoming time-bending assassin game from the team behind Dishonored. You play as one of two rival assassins stuck in a time loop. With the only way to end the cycle being the elimination of eight key targets spread across the island Blackreef. Your targets will all have their own patterns to follow as they go about their routines and to kill them all in the span of one day will require skill, timing and possibly a bit of luck to succeed.
Whilst some of the Deathloop characters you’ll face off against are still shrouded in some mystery, we do know about a few of them, so let’s take a closer look.
Colt Vahn
In Deathloop Colt is the main protagonist and who players will be controlling. At first it appears that Colt may be the only one who is aware of the island’s loop and force surrounding it and its inhabitants.
Colt will have access to various weapons to take on his targets. He will also be able to make use of powers such as Karnesis that allows Colt to fling enemies in the air. Throughout the game you will gain access to more weapons, powers and abilities.
Julianna Blake
As the main antagonist and other assassin in Deathloop, Julianna also seems to be aware of the time loop and strange goings on around the island of Blackreef. However, unlike Colt, Jules believes that she must protect the cycle in which they’re trapped in and therefore will hunt Colt at all times. Much like Colt, Julianna can also make use of powers. She has the ability to take on the form of any of the island’s people effectively hiding in plain sight from Colt waiting for the right time to strike.
Deathloop also has an optional multiplayer feature where you can allow real people to invade your game and play as Jules.
Egor Serling
Another Deathloop character, and target of Colt, you’ll come to familiarise yourself with is Egor Serling. He is the founding Visionary of the AEON program who took over the old military base of Blackreef in the 1960’s. He is an obsessive scientist who will create new advancements in science with each reset of the loop.
Aleksis “The Wolf” Dorsey
What came first, the name or the mask? Aleksis Dorsey is an easily recognisable character on Blackreef for his distinctive wolf mask that he wears. He is also the main financier of the AEON program and self-proclaimed Alpha wolf. With his own powers of Karnesis to back him up in a fight he won’t be easy to take down. But you will be able to find him at his masquerade party, perhaps with a few other targets.
The other Visionaries
Many of the other Visionaries and targets for Colt to hunt are still mostly unknown bar their names and maybe the odd detail or two. There is Charlie Montague, Dr. Wenjie Evans, Fia Zborowska, Harriet Morse and Ramblin’ Frank Spicer. You can bet that tracking them down and taking them out will be just as much fun and challenging as the rest.
