Based on the 2019 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, this fighter from Sega burst onto Windows, PlayStation and Xbox earlier this month. And like any good anime battler, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles (to give it its full name) is absolutely stuffed with heroes and villains of all types for eager players to get to grips with. Tanjiro Kamado
The main protagonist of the game, Tanjiro, has joined the Demon Slayer Corps in order to discover a cure for his sister who had been previously cursed to remain in demon form. Determined and boistorious, Tanjiro is on a one-way path for revenge against Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King that massacred his family and turned his sister into a demon. There are three versions of Tanjiro Kamado in the game; his regular form, his Kimetsu Academy variant, and his Hinokami Kagura form.
Nezuko Kamado
The tragically cursed sister of Tamjiro Kamado, Nezuko nonetheless has a strong will of her own that contests that demonic possession that has blighted her. All the same, despite being a gifted Demon Slayer in her own right, Nezuko is locked in a seemingly endless struggle with her Demon form from which her brother Tanjiro has resolved to release her. In addition to her regular form, players can also play Nezuko in her Kimetsu Academy guise.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Massively self-deprecating and completely unaware of his own worth, Zenitsu is a self-styled coward who fears death every second of his life. That said, Zenitsu soon matures into his role as a Demon Slayer, becoming one of the strongest characters in the entire game as a result of his elite swordsmanship abilities. Like many of the other characters in the game, Zenitsu has a Kimetsu Academy variation that players can play as well.
Inosuke Hashibira
The trusted travelling companion of Tanjiro and Nezuko, the headstrong Inosuke Hashibira ends up being a fierce friend to both. Raised by boars (hence his odd headdress), Inosuke nonetheless reveals himself to be a formidable Demon Slayer, despite a tendency to overestimate his own ability. Like other members of the Demon Slayer Corps, Inosuke has a Kimetsu Academy variant.
Giyu Tomioka
Something of an enigma, the seemingly-cold Giyu Tomioka is an exceptionally powerful Demon Slayer who never once allows emotion to get in the way of his Demon-murdering activities. Easily one of the strongest members of the entire Demon Slayer Corps, Giyu also has a Kimetsu Academy variant for players to choose.
Shinobu Kocho
Despite her petite form and endless friendly demeanor, Shinobu Kocho is an extremely capable swordsman who, when appropriately riled up, becomes one of the strongest Demon Slayer – The Hinomaki Chronicles characters on the entire roster. Shinobu also has a Kimetsu Academy variant that players can choose if they wish.
Sakonji Urokodaki
A retired trainer of the Demon Slayer Corps, Sakonki Urokodaki is responsible for training the likes of Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka – amongst many others – in the water swordsman discipline. Stern but honorable, Sakonji is regarded by many in the Demon Slayer Corps as a hero.
Sabito
A kind but pessimistic boy who was responsible for aiding in the training of Tanjiro Kamado, Sabito is a skilled Demon Slayer that is recognised by Sakonji Urokodaki as his most talented student – after Tanjiro Kamado, of course!
Kyojuro Rengoku
The former Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku’s chosen element befits his personality as he is loud, brazen and often enthusiastic to a fault. Despite this, Kyojuro is a devastating and often overwhelmingly powerful combatant that is rightly feared by Demons everywhere.
Murata
Something of a timid sort, Murata is a mysterious individual. After his family was killed by demons, Murata joined the Demon Slayer Corps as an excellent swordsman. Reserved and reticent to delve into his past, Murata is quite the X Factor to say the least.
Makomo
Another of Sakonji Urokodaki’s apprentices, Makomo is a quiet and pleasant girl. Don’t let that fool you though; she boasts a potent mastery of water swordsmanship techniques to make her a formidable Demon Slayer on the battlefield.
