Hey, it’s April. Sneaking up on us like a trickster, this month seems to have come out of nowhere. Wasn’t it only yesterday we were celebrating the New Year? It’s almost unimaginable to believe a full third of the year has disappeared behind us, left in our collective wing-mirrors as we drive into the future.
Speaking of the future, here’s all the gaming news you’ll need as you face the oncoming onslaught of new releases in our regular Green Man Gaming News Roundup.
BioShock 4 may be going Open World
The eagle-eyed gang over at PC Gamer have spied a few new job postings on Cloud Chamber’s website which may indicate the direction this development team will be taking the next BioShock game.
The most important takeaways from the job adverts are that the game will contain both primary and secondary missions with systemic mechanics (no surprises there), and that the game will feature “character-driven stories in an open world setting.” So an open world might be on the cards for BioShock 4, but we’ll have to wait to hear more about this long-awaited sequel.
WWE 2K22 Announced
During last weekend’s Wrestlemania 37, 2K Games announced the return of the long-running WWE series with a new installment. WWE 2K22 is the first full WWE game to be released after the series took a break for a year and expectations are running high.
We don’t have much more information just yet about when WWE 2K22 will release, but the trailer does let us know that more details are coming soon.

The latest patch for Final Fantasy XIV 5.5: Death Unto Dawn, has been released, giving players a tonne of new story to experience and new content to explore.
There’s an entirely new series of Main Scenario Quests to undertake, a new Alliance Raid Dungeon themed around NieR: Automata called The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach, and a new dungeon called Paglth’an. It looks like Death Unto Dawn is set to keep fans busy for a long time to come.
PC Upgrade Patch incoming for Nier: Automata
Speaking of NieR: Automata, Square Enix are working on a brand new patch for the PC version which aims to iron out some technical issues which players have been experiencing.
Announced on Twitter, this surprise patch doesn’t give much away but lets players know that an upgrade is being developed at the moment. Other than that, we’ll just have to wait to see when we’ll be able to get our hands on this patch.
Path of Exile 2 gets Gameplay Trailer
Grinding Gear have decided to lift the veil on the upcoming action-RPG Path of Exile 2 with a brand new trailer showing off twenty minutes of gameplay footage.
New weapon types, new skills, and an overall increased focus on mobility are some of the highlights we’ve been able to glean from the trailer, as well as the updated visuals and brand-new enemies. Path of Exile 2 will launch in 2022, and if this gameplay trailer is anything to go by, it’ll be as addictive as the first one.

Now, a new comparison trailer from BioWare has given us a little more info about what’s being updated in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.
