This time of year may be dominated by E3 but it doesn’t mean the news pipe stops flowing. More news plops out of it every day, making keeping up with what’s happening a Herculean task. E3 2021 Happened
That’s right, more games than you can shake a gamey stick at were announced at this year’s E3. Starfield, Elden Ring, and much more were shown off – want to check out what was announced? Here’s the evidence in part one and part two of our comprehensive E3 2021 coverage.
Alan Wake Remastered May be Incoming
Thanks to perennial gaming news hound Wario64 on Twitter, it appears that 2010’s Alan Wake may be getting a remastered version that’s coming to the Epic Games Store. A site tracker for the store spotted a listing, along with another listing which seems to show the Final Fantasy VII Remake also coming to Epic. There’s no other information right now but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for news of the beleaguered writer and the spiky sword-chap and his pals.
Level Cap Doubled in Big Biomutant Patch
There’s a tonne of changes hitting Biomutant in a colossal patch for the open world adventure. The level cap has doubled from 50 to 100, new field of view options have been implemented, and scrapping items has been made so much easier. You can check out the full patch notes here, so if you want to jump back into some mutant-themed action, you might have the perfect incentive now.
Double Fine States Psychonauts 2 Made with ‘No Crunch’ So Far
At the moment it feels like many games are made at the expense of the staff making them. Thankfully companies are working out that happy workers make better workers, and Double Fine are the latest to announce that so far, at least, Psychonauts 2 has been made without crunch of any kind. Senior Producer Kevin Johnson tweeted that the game has caused no crunch, and that’s something we can all celebrate.
Final Fantasy IX Animated Series Announced
The secret best Final Fantasy game will be coming to a small screen near you. Website Kidscreen reported that French company, Cyber Group, are working on an animated version of Final Fantasy IX. Does this mean we’ll get to see the series’ best moogle and Bobby Corwen in full animated form? We can only hope!
Destiny Toaster is Real
Finally this week we leave you with news that thanks to Destiny 2 fans managing to raise a huge amount of money for the Gaming Community Expo livestream, Bungie have come through on their promise. That’s right, the Destiny toaster is real, you can preorder it, and yes it’ll burn the Tricorn emblem into your bread. That’s not all, it’ll also grant you an in-game Burnt Edges emblem and 10% of the profits will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
