Amazon’s MMORPG is fast approaching and after a few betas it seems to be winning over a fair few fans. The one question that keeps getting asked is around New World Mounts and whether the game will feature any. If you’re wondering that too, we’ve got an answer for you.
New World Mounts
It has been confirmed that New World will not feature mounts upon release. The news will certainly be disappointing to many, not just because it’s nice to be able to get around the huge maps a little quicker. But also because typically in MMOs there are various different mounts to acquire, whether through direct purchases or by completing certain activities in the game. They can, at times, be a statement of sorts to let others know you have completed the most difficult parts of the game.
Will mounts ever be coming to New World is another question. For now it looks like the answer is a simple no. However, things can always change in video games, so perhaps we can be a little optimistic. That being said, if you’re hoping they will be in the game you may end up being disappointed. As it stands it looks unlikely that they will ever be in the game.
Fast Travel
Fret not, as there are still other ways to fast travel around the lands of Aeternum which we will go over here.
Firstly, you’re able to set a settlement as your ‘home’ by checking in at the local Inn. Now you will be able to fast-travel back to this location from any point on the map for free. There is however, an hour long cool down on this method.
Option 2 will also allow you to fast-travel to settlements at the cost of the in-game resource Azoth. You will have had to visit the settlement already to be able to travel. If you have simply select the Inn within the settlement and choose the fast-travel option. The cost will vary on factors such as the distance you’re travelling and how much you weigh.
Option number three is to find fast-travel locations dotted around the world. Much like option two, you will have to have discovered them already and pay Azoth in the order to travel between them. You will have to get to a fast-travel location on the map, interact with it and then travel from there.
Finally, you have the option of fast-travel if you’re a homeowner, not something you’re likely to have for a little while. You’re able to own a number of houses across the map and they each have a tier assigned to them, the higher the tier the quicker the cool down.
Whilst there may not be mounts in New World, there are still a number of other options available. Plus, whilst you’re walking you can take in the beautiful vistas and scenery. Amazon’s New World is releasing 28th September and is looking like a very promising new MMORPG to get stuck in to.
