Sony has revealed that Spider-Man will be released on September 7, 2018.
The much-anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive, developed by Insomniac Games, promises to be: “Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before,” according to the game’s official website. Insomniac Games also highlights: “An experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City,” and a huge open world as key features of the game.
Spider-Man will feature an original story, rather than one derived from any of the Spider-Man films or comics – according to Insomniac, Peter Parker will be: “Struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.” When the game arrives in September, it should give PlayStation 4 owners some major bragging rights, at a time when console-exclusive games have become increasingly rare.
