" As a fan of both MMORPGs and the Elder Scrolls series, I found it to be one of the most rewarding games in the genre in years." [IGN]
The Elder Scrolls® Online: Tamriel Unlimited™ is the latest chapter of the award-winning franchise – and will bring the legendary experience online to consoles for the first time. Explore the far reaches of Skyrim, the mysterious lands of Morrowind, the sprawling metropolis of Daggerfall and beyond. The choices you make, from the alliance you join to the battles you fight, will shape your destiny and the world of Tamriel.
After more than 20 years of best-selling, award-winning fantasy role-playing games, the Elder Scrolls series goes online on console. Experience this multiplayer roleplaying game on your own or together with your friends, guild mates, and thousands of alliance members. Explore dangerous caves and dungeons in Skyrim, or craft quality goods to sell in the city of Daggerfall. Embark upon adventurous quests across Tamriel and engage in massive player versus player battles, or spend your days at the nearest fishing hole, or reading one of many books of lore. Use any weapon or armor at any time and customize your abilities to play the way you want. The choices are yours and the decisions you make will shape your destiny and the persistent world of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is set roughly 1,000 years before the events in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the coming of the Dragonborn, and just before the rise of Tiber Septim, the first Emperor of Tamriel. Three Alliances have emerged across the continent, each struggling for supremacy over the land. As these great powers battle one another for control of the Imperial City – and with it all of Tamriel – darker forces are moving to destroy the world.

This is by far my most prized and favorite MMORPG ever created. With developers staying up to date, updates are very often released and more is being added to the game daily! The player community is amazing and very helpful, and the game was made in a way that griefing isn't possible and players can actually help each other out. This game cannot truly be "beaten" because of the numerous amounts of quests and activities to complete. However, you'll see yourself having hundreds of ours of fun for only 30 dollars!
If you were expecting an open world sandbox game, like Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim, ESO is not that. Instead, it's a theme park take on the Elder Scrolls, with a very similar UI and combat system to Skyrim. The character progression also remotely resembles the free-form customization of main series Elder Scrolls game, as one can use any weapon and wear any armor. If you are just looking for a solo experience and to explore Tamriel on your own (or even with a couple friends), you will enjoy this game. However, if you are looking for an engrossing MMO that incentivizes building community with a great PvP system, look elsewhere.
For years I've played the Elder Scrolls games and wanted a multi-player option. Elder Scrolls Online isn't Skyrim, so try not to expect that, but it is incredibly immersive. And gorgeous. Now that One Tamriel is a thing, the game is that much better! If you love fantasy but don't care for the cartoony appearance of WoW (or the toxic community there), give Elder Scrolls Online a shot!
When this game came out, ESO was garbage, wanted a subscription and had barely any content + no exploration like what Skyrim players expected. However, with the One Tamriel update, people can explore the entire world of ESO no matter what level and what faction they are. Doesn't matter if you're a khajit or a dunmer, you can both do the same content. End Game PVE is decent, mostly just 12 man dungeons + maelstrom. PVP is probably the best end game with large groups of players fighting all over a huge map. Zergs, Solo, doesn't matter you can fight in Cyrodill. Plus they have level locked maps so that a level 30 doesn't have to fight a veteran player.
To answer the question from the title - No, it's not Skyrim Online. It's rather a whole new universe on it's own. Yes, it is still in Tamriel, but the game feels, looks and plays differently than any Elder Scrolls game I've played before. I was sceptic at first, but now that I've played it, it's great! The game plays and runs very smoothly. The story is very intriguing and compelling. I've found myself playing up to 2-3 AM while I had to go to work early in the morning. Although, I have to warn you that it is in it's core a true MMO, so it has a lot of grindy quests. But being a hardcore The Elder Scroll fan, I even enjoyed that. Overall I'd give this game a score from 85 to 90. An experience I won't forget soon.
