Absolute Drift is a fun little indie game where the main premise is well... drifting. The game is presented from the isometric view, the environment where you drive is also very minimalistic but this doesn't bother me at all as this is the main charm of this production. While there is not a lot of content the game offers solid fun gameplay for several hours and considering the price is rather humble it's worth checking out.
The controls are decent and the car drives well. You can play this on a controller and the music is awesome. As seen in the trailer and screenshots, the animations are meh... but you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. This game is exactly what I expected when I bought it, so it meets expectations in every way. Because of the level structures, this game is all about drifting.
The idea of the game is great and I certainly like it. The gameplay is very easy to get a hold of and master. It's very sleek and smooth. The art style is beautiful, it looks very, very nice. The core of this game are the mechanics, how everything works. The drifting is very good, smooth and easy to control. The way they did it was amazing and very enjoyable. Playing this is actually fun, you don't get bored quickly, not too repetitive. The game does great at keeping you interested and still playing. The game is fun, playing is extremely fun since the mechanics are so well done. The graphics are nice, very beautiful and simple.
Absolute Drift is a racing game with a very cool looking graphic engine where everything looks a lot like in Mirror's Edge. It's all minimalistic with no real texture but vibrant colors and a lot of white. The game has a nice twist to it : You must drive through each map drifting most of the time (Hence the name). The game uses a top-down view which gives you a perfect visibility of the area. It's a bit hard to handle at first but once you get used to it, the gameplay is just fantastic. It's a very enjoyable game with a good scoring system. However, there are not many vehicles available (Only six). Also, while free roaming is a good feature, the game lacks a real multiplayer experience.
Absolute Drift is a very simple racing, drafting game with its stronger point in the artistic style. Even if stylized, the world is great to see in motion, providing nice visuals. The soundtrack is very good too, but sadly, excluding the free roaming mode, there are only 24 levels, so the game is not that long.
