If you like games like Civilization but want a bit more of an accurate variant of history, then dont look any further! although most content is behind DLC it is still a great game. if you look around on the workshop you can get some epic mods that can tweak the game or drastically change it!
This game is another fun Grand Strategy to play. It's a bit easier to get into than Victoria 2 or CK2, but you can quickly become a master at fighting the AI. As with the other grand strategy games, I think it's only good if you play with other players. The DLC is extremely important for having a fun time, at the very least you need someone to host who has the DLC when playing multiplayer, in order to get access to all of the game's mechanics. The main complaint I have for this game is how much of the content is put behind a pay wall, but this can be circumvented by multiplayer.
This truly is the grand strategy game. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get past it, you'll enjoy yourself. Youtube play throughs are always a solid way of learning a game, that is what I did.
Eu 4 is a grand strategy masterpiece made by the folks at paradox development studios, known for games such as CK2 and recently, Stellaris. Eu4 is great due to the fact, that you can change history, what if Luxembourg became a German French empire? what if Sweden colonized the modern day USA? what if japan colonized Australia? all of these are examples of things I've done within the game. Eu4 does however have a very difficult learning curve, though that can be offset through cheating initially. getting the main dlcs with this is recommended as well , in particular "art of war" which allows for a much smoother combat system. the modding on this game is quick and easy, using mostly text files for everything, and fir that reason, has a massive modding community. Final score: 9.5/10 W/O DLCs - 9.9/10 with dlcs
One of the best strategy I ever played. Rulea country in history and expand your country in the world constantly changing. This game is rich in content, You could sink hundred of hours in it without noticing (like me).You could expend you country any way you want through peaceful vassalitzation to conquest and war. You could expect every start everything could be different. One of you allies from your last game could of rival you at the beginning of the game and you have to allies your enemy from your last game. The only thing I don't like is the price of the dlc. If you want to enjoy the full experience you would have to buy all the dlc which would cost you at least around 150usd all more. It is worth it for me but it might not be worth it to you. I suggest you buy the base game first and see if you like it or not or wait for a sale.
