"Hotline Miami is an immaculate super-violent top-down action game.- 10/10 -" Eurogamer
"You could argue that HOTLINE MIAMI is brilliant, vital, a tactical and aesthetic masterpiece as well as a pixel-art odyssey of ice-cold violence. It is." - Rock Paper Shotgun
Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gunplay and skull crushing close combat. Set in an alternative 1989 Miami, you will assume the role of a mysterious antihero on a murderous rampage against the shady underworld at the behest of voices on your answering machine. Soon you'll find yourself struggling to get a grip of what is going on and why you are prone to these acts of violence.
Rely on your wits to choreograph your way through seemingly impossible situations as you constantly find yourself outnumbered by vicious enemies. The action is unrelenting and every shot is deadly so each move must be quick and decisive if you hope to survive and unveil the sinister forces driving the bloodshed. Hotline Miami’s unmistakable visual style, a driving soundtrack, and a surreal chain of events will have you question your own thirst for blood while pushing you to the limits with a brutally unforgiving challenge.

Even though I've never been fond of top-down shooters in general, Hotline Miami has still managed to become one of my favorite indie games despite that fact. Offering extremely enjoyable combat with a selection of 34 different weapons ranging from beer bottles and hammers to fully automatic rifles and a soundtrack that is all on it's own is worth the price of the game which you find right in the game directory. On top of everything the story is very well written based on what I've come to expect from an indie title that isn't 100% focused on it. You can pick it up for as low as an American dollar (more or less. depending on where you live) during a sale and it's without a doubt worth much more than that.
A very violent and fast paced game where quick decisionmaking is the key of success. While some criticize the AI being unpredictable I think it's deliberate so you can't "learn" the maps but you have to rely on your reflexes and reactions. The visual is dated, looks very similar to GTA2, but the soundtrack is awesome. Love it!
Hotline Miami is a fun top down action game that has a great soundtrack. There are different masks that you can choose from that'll give you unique bonuses which depending on your strategy can be amazing or not very useful to you, The combat can be frustrating at times because you cannot take any damage or you will die. Some patience may be required because you will die a lot in this game. When you get the hang of the combat it becomes quite fun. Gun out of ammo? No problem because you can throw it at an enemy. This game has replayability because there are plenty of different weapons and ways to go about winning each level. There is also achievements if you like getting those.
Hotline miami is a game, that raises awareness of the dangers, of slamming a door in someone's face. In the game's world, topically a dozen people and one dog dies every day like that. Stop the madness, live in tents! Seriously though, this game is awesome. if you like 80's action movies, and want to file like a hero, this game is for you. The gore is unbelievable, even in 2D, and the many ways you can obliterate someone is just staggering. The game becomes rather hard towards the end, but that's to be expected. The story is a little weird. I didn't fully get it, what was going on, but i believe it was intentionally vague, and frankly, trippy. Anyway, buy this, you won't regret it :)
For 2? it is a must buy. Why? well it has a very nice gameplay, frenetic and gorish at the right point.. you will die a lot but who cares! You have to learn from your mistakes.. It has a very nice soundtrack, and maybe even a great story if only i could understand it.. but it is not necessary to enjoy this game!
