I wanna be like you

I Want To Be Human is what you get when you mix vampires, hat, shotguns and side-scrolling gameplay. It's the tale of two lovers. One has been turned into a vampire, the other is now a hat. The goal of your adventure is to become human again (Hence the game's name) so you're travelling across levels filled with enemies to shoot with your good old pump-action shotgun! The visuals are a bit special. You see the game use mostly black and white with a tiny touch of blood-red. it gives the art direction a very good Sin City-like vibe (Except that the blood was white in Sin City). Gameplay-wise, it's a mixture of platformer, Run and Gun and exploration. The levels are huge with a lot of traps and jumping to do. The shooting part is very simple (This is not Contra) but very satisfying thanks to the dark humor and gore. Oh boy, this game is gory. It's probably the most violent side-scroller I've seen since Super Meat Boy! Every little guy you shoot turns into a bloody pile of gibs. It's fun as hell and you should buy it!

I want to be a good game

I Want To Be Human is clunky and boring. You play as a vampire girl with a shotgun and that alone sounds awesome, but sadly everything else drags it down. The story is a love story between a vampire and a human, and while not Twilight levels of bad, is still uninteresting. The gameplay feels like a slower, less fluid version of Super Meat Boy. As for the graphics, they somehow look generic, interesting, and bad all at the same time (this is not helped by the fact that the game commits the cardinal sin of having stuff block the camera). I wanted I Want To Be Human to be a good game. But it isn’t. It’s mediocre and flawed at best, and at its worst it is so poorly designed it is a legitimately bad game.
