Genoa, 1298. Author Rustichello da Pisa shared his cell with a Venetian captain who spoke of a thousand and one fabulous lands. As a writer, Rustichello could not remain indifferent to the snippets of fabulous stories told by his new friend. He managed to convince him to tell his life story. And that is how Marco Polo, back from 25 years of traveling, began recounting his adventures. From his Genoa prison, the Venetian explorer remembers his travels: Venice, Acre, Jerusalem, Armenia, the Himalayas, all the way to the palace of great Kublai Khan.

The Travels of Marco Polo is a historical point and click adventure game for casual players of the genre. You will click on objects in the environment from a first person perspective to either pick up, interact with, solve puzzles, or use items on to progress the game. The game has more in common with hidden object genre than what you would usually think of when thinking of the adventure genre. There is good voice acting during the opening cinematic and during the cinematics that separate in game locations but the text in game has to all be read. The game is short with about one hour of content. With the short length and the style of gameplay it isn't a very good historical look at the journeys of Maro Polo. If you have young family members that want to play it it might be worth a look but there is not enough content, and what content there is isn't interesting enough, to justify the current price.
