Tokyo Dark managed to raise over $ 225,000 in Kickstarter's campaign, and seven of the Stretch goals of this campaign were successful. The game's story is described as Anime style animations, which may have been a big part of the game if fans did not really support the game. In fact, The game's story is shaped by your choices and decisions (just like a RPG game). If you are a fan of detective stories and mysteries games, Tokyo Dark is a good choice for you.
Two years ago, three people from Tokyo started collecting money for a very ambitious project on Kickstarter. Today, after a long period of development and support from the public, Tokyo Dark finally came out on Steam. Tokyo Dark is an excellent point-and-click quest with elements of psychological horror and a visual novel. As for the plot, we play the role of detective Ayami Ito, who is investigating the loss of her partner and falls into the whirlpool of nightmarish events. Excellent storyline, expressive backgrounds, more than ten endings, great atmosphere and very competent dialogues. Separate mention deserves the S.P.I.N. system, it is a kind of system of karma of the main character, which has several parameters that vary depending on what actions you perform. A game worth checking out.
Tokyo Dark is an adventure game that has you playing as a Tokyo cop trying to find her missing partner, combining elements of noir, anime, and cyberpunk. It was designed as part of the Square Enix Collective which has also lead to the development of The Turing Test and other promising looking titles. Presentation can switch between side scrolling, visual novel style text scenes, and videos. The game has four systems that can influence how your character responds and views the world, you have your professionalism and investigation that effects how you behave and are viewed as a cop, you also have sanity and neurosis that can influence how you view situations and can change based on your in game behavior. While the game involves your characters sanity, has an anime visual aesthetic, and includes things like a cursed mask most of it is grounded in the real world and is focused on the characters you interact with. Worth checking out for well done characters and setting as well some interesting gameplay features, though there can be situations where sanity and player options can cause some limitations.
