Just a few short days until we celebrate – or fear! – the thinning of the veil between worlds. Halloween is approaching, bringing with it terrors, horrors and – most importantly of all – lashings of chocolate. Make sure you’re ready for the Halloween feast with the top gaming news from the last two weeks…it can only be the Green Man Gaming News Roundup!
Valorant Anti-Cheating Measures Working

Valorant’s anti-cheating technology, named Vanguard, was a little unpopular with the community when it was introduced. Now an update from Riot anti-cheat analyst Matt Paoletti has shared its impact. It seems that whilst it’s a continual battle against cheaters, the reports of cheating have gone way down and are the lowest they’ve ever been. Great news for Valorant players in search of a fair game.
Deathloop Patch Targets FPS and DLSS

The latest update for Deathloop has been released, and it’s a whopper. Not only does it add support for Nvidia DLSS, it also takes aim at FPS issues that some players reported. This should ameliorate some of the poor experiences some in the community have experienced, as the technical issues are the only flaw on what our review said was an otherwise brilliant game.
New Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights Trailers

WB Games have showed off a few bits and pieces over recent days, letting us see more of what they’re working on with the DC universe. Firstly we’ve got a brand new Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League trailer which really delves into the mood for the game, absolutely nailing the gang of criminal misfits feel. The other new trailer was for Gotham Knights, letting us see more of the dastardly Court of Owls, hinting at how they’ve been pulling the strings in Gotham for many, many years.
Allay Coming to Minecraft

This year’s fan vote for a new Minecraft mob is over and the winner is the Allay. This blue friendly pal will dance when it can hear music blocks being played and will collect gifts for the player when given something. It definitely looks like survival mode might get a little friendlier with the Allay about – something we could all use.
Squid Game Game Being Considered

It’s fair to say that Korean drama Squid Game has taken over the world and now, according to a report over on THR, a Squid Game video game is being considered. It’s understandable that Netflix would be looking at opportunities, given that Squid Game is the most-watched series the platform has ever had. There’s no details about what form a Squid Game…er…game would take, but we’re sure we’ll hear something soon if it decides to make an appearance.
Doom Playable On Twitter

We’ve seen Doom ported to home pregnancy tests, a piano, Minecraft sheep, and much more. Now it’s the turn of Twitter, where a bot called Tweet2Doom has been set up. This bot lets users send instructions via tweet, which are then randomly chosen and converted to Doom gameplay. So far, the community has managed to complete E1M3, which is already pretty impressive. If you have a Twitter account you can see the instructions here, and maybe you’ll get to help take Doomguy to victory.
On that hellish note, we’re off to gather more deep announcements and hot gaming news for you. Until then, why not head on over to our Community Forum and join in the conversation?
