The PC Gaming Show at E3 has become very popular since its conception a few E3’s ago. Presented by esports legend Sean ‘Day9’ Plott, this is the place to get the announcements and discussions of real PC games.
Xcom 2: War of the Chosen was the first thing to be announced. In the biggest expansion ever created for XCOM, you must fight with and against 3 different factions of aliens, psychics and humans.
Next up was a trailer for Battletech, based off the tabletop game, and created by the company that brought Shadowrun to PC. You get a space station called the Argo where you can customise and upgrade your Battletechs, and choose missions to take on.
Mount and Blade: Bannerlord released a new gameplay trailer showing off their improved combat engine, which includes directional shield blocking, horsemen sergeants and attack chaining, i.e. using your heavy swing’s momentum to swing again.
Total War: Warhammer II showed us a new trailer showing the Battle of the Fallen Gates, and confirmed the release date of 28th September, and it will launch with 4 factions, with another to follow in DLC.
Climbing and vaulting is coming to PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, as well as new weather settings. Rain, clouds, fog are all set to impact gameplay. Playerunknown himself talked about plans for new maps, modding and replays.
Killing Floor 2 announced a new event called the Summer Sideshow Event, which is a horror-circus themed event that will last for a month, starting 13th June. Completely new content, items, costumes and guns will be available for players to get for free.
A new game called Ylands was announced, a sandbox survival game but with a big focus on creativity and imagination. You are able to fully craft and edit maps, and the trailer showed multiple interesting types of gameplay including car racing, sailing, mining, hunting and building castles.
Griftlands was also announced, a sci-fi RPG with turn-based combat and a look similar to Banner Saga, and an open world to roam around and take missions.
Cliff Bleszinski releaseda new trailer for his project Lawbreakers, which is currently in Beta. The release date is August 8th. The game is an ultra fast-paced team twitch shooter with zero gravity mechanics.
The show ended with the announcement of a remastered Age of Empires, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, which features an updated soundtrack, 4K visuals, improved gameplay and Xbox Live multiplayer.
