Play Jackbox Games on Zoom with your friends

Socialising isn’t an easy thing to do at the moment, and it’s nice to be able to do something a bit more interesting by playing games with people. The thing is, not everyone is all that into games, which means finding something you’re all going to like is much easier said than done. One of the best answers, aside from charades or I spy, are the Jackbox Party Packs.

These are excellent compilations of games, all of which are designed to be pure fun, rather than challenge your hand-eye coordination. Each pack contains different games, but all of them just ask you to bring a phone and your brain to play. This makes them almost perfect for playing via Zoom, so you’ll want to know how to do so.

What are the Jackbox Games?

The Jackbox Party Pack Games are collections of around 5 games that are perfect for playing together with friends. Some of them have lower player counts, others have up to eight players or more, but they’re all very different and each pack has a different selection. These games can include things like robot rap battles, pitching new products, or just trying to tell a very convincing lie.

It’s worth looking into the games in the Party Packs to make sure you’ll enjoy the games inside, but they are, for the most part, all very good anyway. A good one to go for is any containing the Quiplash games, so keep an eye out for those as well. Once you’ve got the game, you need to actually play them on Zoom.

How to play Jackbox Games on Zoom

First of all, you need to download Zoom, just google Zoom and you’ll be able to download it to your PC or laptop. Then, make sure everyone else has done this too. You’ll need to set up an account, so follow along with all of the relevant prompts. Now you can set up a New Meeting, just choose the icon in the app to do so.

Once you’ve done all of this, invite in your friends and then load up the Jackbox Party Pack of your choice and select Share Screen. Everyone will be able to see your screen now, and you can all play along with whichever game or games you decide to go for. You’ll all need to sign into the website that the game lists first though.

To do that, head to https://jackbox.tv/ and enter the room code that the game gives you. Make sure to enter a name too, ideally your own, but it can also be fun throwing your friends off by giving a fake name too. Once you’ve done all of that, you’ll be good to go, and the host just has to hit the start button once you’re all in the game. That’s how you play the Jackbox games on Zoom. Have fun.
