The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is great adventure which is quite big (~20 hours) and thus is something which is rare nowadays. If you like adventure games in the spirit of ?Monkey Island? you need to get BoUT2 (and 1 if you haven?t played it). The people at KingArt, who developed this game, poured their heart and soul into it and the game shows it. The lovely crafted scenes in the background, the witty and funny dialogues and the many references to pop culture already earned a sweet spot in my geeky heart.
First game was average at best - weak jokes, weak characters, easy puzzles and could feel pretty short. While the prequel fixed many things, it was insanely lacking content. This game is actually a nice mix of both of them. Characters in this game are the same as in the first game, but they actually developed and are not as annoying as they were in the first game. Graphics got better, music is really nice, and while there are references, those are thankfuly not a driving force anymore but more of a background thing, which is nice. Thanks to that the jokes are much better. The only thing bad about this game, really, is the extremely slow start - the part in the school goes on forever and barely anything is accomplished. The game is also much longer than previous ones and it can take around 25 hours to complete, which is pretty good. Worst offender, though, is yet another cliffhanger ending, meaning we will have to wait years to find out how this will end. Overall, pretty good adventure game, strongly recommended for fans of the genre.
The first Book of Unwritten tales was a fantastic game, and featured some of the best storytelling for a game of its time, and this game is no different. The developers put a lot of time in making a good game that they KNOW that their fans are going to enjoy. The game has LOTS of good dialogue, tons of side quests to distracts you, and plenty of puzzles to solve along the entire way. The music in this game is superb, and you could seriously just put the game on, and then listen to the music, because they obviously knew what they were doing when they composed the soundtrack for this game. The graphics of the game aren't SUPER great, but it has it's own unique art style that defines the series as its own game, which is smart, because people will remember this game for it's graphics. Altogether, it is a very fun game.
