EARLY ACCESS 0.8
Assetto Corsa EVO 0.8 delivers a major content drop alongside decisive steps forward in two of Early Access's highest-priority areas. A brand-new venue at Kyalami joins the circuit list, three new cars broaden the roster, community-created content makes its Multiplayer debut with full SHA verification, and the VR experience receives its most substantial overhaul of the Early Access cycle. Beneath the headline additions, 0.8 continues the renderer's VRAM-management evolution, tightens physics, and delivers a comprehensive pass on online robustness and stability.
NEW CONTENT – THREE CARS AND KYALAMI – Release 0.8 expands the roster with the KTM X-Bow GT2, KTM X-Bow GT4 and Volkswagen Golf 8 R, stretching from uncompromising track machinery to every day road performance. Alongside them, Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit makes its EVO debut — South Africa's historic FIA-graded venue, set at high altitude near Johannesburg, with a flowing sequence of fast esses and committed direction changes that has made it a long-standing fixture of international GT competition.
USER GENERATED CONTENT STEPS UP – External livery creation support arrives in 0.8 alongside the most significant UGC milestone of the Early Access programme: community-created cars can now be brought into Multiplayer. The server launcher supports modded car content with a SHA verification layer that ensures every car on a server is exactly what it claims to be. Entry-list-defined starting orders complete the toolset for league operators and event organisers.
MAJOR VR OVERHAUL – Release 0.8 delivers the most significant VR update of the Early Access cycle. Foveated rendering — including an eye-tracked variant on supported hardware — concentrates rendering effort where the eye is actually looking, reclaiming performance without a visible cost to perceived sharpness. New controls include a pixel-density slider from 50% to 150%, world scale, supersampling and a custom MSAA resolve tuned for VR. A dedicated VR settings profile independent from flat-screen configuration, a 'prefer FPS over latency' mode and a direct OpenXR swapchain path round out an overhaul designed to make VR a credible, first-class way to experience EVO.
RENDERER AND PLATFORM MATURITY – 0.8 continues the GPU-feedback streaming work introduced in 0.7 with a full VRAM-management pass. Dynamically resizable texture and mesh streaming pools now operate against a real-time VRAM budget, keeping memory use within the available headroom on any given GPU. Alongside: supersampling, enhanced windshield rendering with wiper refraction and raindrop splash, a panini projection update, HiZ occlusion reprojection, and cloud and wet tarmac shader realignment to the new physics ranges.
Assetto Corsa EVO raises the bar of realism that has made the franchise one of the most popular driving simulations of the last decade even higher.
As with its predecessor, Assetto Corsa EVO will include cars from different classes spanning across years of motoring history. From road cars, classics, hypercars, and race cars. The most iconic representation of the automotive and motorsport world. Each vehicle is reproduced through Kunos in-house physics and graphic engine simulating mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance, combined with the fidelity of the circuits created using Laserscan technology.
In Early Access 1 you will be able to experience a range of vehicles, tracks and game modes that will evolve on the road to our full 1.0 launch.
