Ted used to be a simple farmer. But he just couldn't see himself being a farmer his whole life. He wanted more. So Ted decided to leave for the big city and finish school there. Once he was done with his education, he decided it's finally time to find a job somewhere. And he found one in a small town called Sunset Hills. He got a job as an assistant in the mayor's office. This is how Ted and Catherine met! Even though he tried to hide it, he was smitten the first time he laid eyes on her. Unfortunately for Ted, the mayor himself was Catherine's fiancé. And the mayor... well, the mayor had some very ambitious plans for Sunset Hills. Or better said, some very ambitious plans for himself...

I made the mistake of getting this game as an adult. While the country theme seems appealing, it does little to mask the lack of game play depth and exasperating UI. While I think children would enjoy the gameplay/theme, I can attest the UI would make it to difficult. As for other aspects of the game, the music is repetitive and annoying and the art style is trite.
Country Tales is a funny, little game in which you need, basically, to manage a whole community settled in the far west. The game presents a nice plot too, but what is really interesting is the option to play it under several difficulties, making it almost a casual game if you are just tired after a long day of work. It's not original, it has no exclusive feature, but it's a decent game to spend sometime on.
