With the most significant expansion of domestic teams in its history, Cricket Captain returns for 2017 with 130 playable domestic teams across 8 countries. It's time for cricket fans to put their tactical expertise to the test in the number one cricket management game.
Developed in association with Jimmy Anderson, Cricket Captain 2017 features new twenty-over leagues in West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. This year's edition also includes full West Indies and Pakistan domestic leagues.
Cricket Captain is unrivalled in cricket management simulation, and Cricket Captain 2017 improves the series once again with more statistics (including ground records and international versus records), updated interface, refined match engine, improved player generation and all the attention to detail that is the trademark of the series.
Key features for 2017 include:
Circket Captain is basically football manager, only instead of football (or soccer for some) it is about circket. In this type of game, it is hard to complain about graphics or sound, because there are no expectations what-so-ever other than easy to use and read UI and this game does its job. It is easy to use and learn, but it has the same downside as some of the sequels/annual releases of football manager - not enough of new stuff and you might as well stick to 2015 or 2016 Cricket Captain version, because this is adding only some small features and updates team - that's pretty much it. On the other hand, that's why we are buying another release of *sport* manager every year, because we want it. Also, for now, multiplayer is not working, but that could be because there are not enough people playing or some small bug that will get fixed later. Overall, competent and pretty good game - it could've been much worse, because there is nothing else to choose from with cricket, but developers sticked to their guns and released another solid game. Recommended.
Sports games aren't too difficult to come by nowadays, and with games like FIFA dominating the market, you would expect to see more sports games in the limelight. Cricket Captain 2017, whilst not as popular, is just as deserving of praise. It's an easy-to-pick-up yet hard-to-master cricket game that will have you organising teams and competing against other countries. The gameplay is fluid and has enough depth to it to keep you occupied for long amounts of time, and the graphics are surprisingly realistic. If you're a fan of cricket or just sports games in general, then this is a worthwhile purchase.
