Project Freedom was released as a budget priced space combat game, and was a decent game, years later it is still a decent game and the price has gotten significantly lower. You have allies with you but like most space combat games they are largely useless and there only to provide occasional com chatter. The visuals are pretty good considering it was a budget game for the time but the weapon effects look weak to the point where it can sometimes even be difficult to tell if you are hitting your enemies. As you finish missions you can choose to upgrade different stats on your ship, useful mechanically but nothing interesting otherwise. Controls are mostly handled with the mouse, steering, shooting, and using the wheel to increase and decrease your speed. It is a short campaign, lasting about 4-5 hours with nothing to do once it is completed but to play it again. If you just want a cheap playable space game this could be one to look at but it doesn't do anything that well.
