As a player of alot of AAA games, I find adventure games hard to get into and enjoy because most are made on a low budget...and it shows. That's not the case with The Raven though. Great graphics, great scriptwriting, great gameplay, etc. This game is the AAA of the adventure genre. I bought this game for my wife and ended up loving it myself as well. Ran into 1 glitch that occurs in a single scene, but that's all. Otherwise, it's great.
This is the 1st Adventure game that offers REAL thought processes and puzzles that make sense! The story is a good one, and yes, it's only the first part of the story, but at the end of it was craving more! The graphics are pretty good and the game play is very easy. There are a few glitches like where to walk and camera angles that get a bit annoying, but still worth the try! Character development is huge here in the beginning of the game. Just like in any TV show or Movie, it helps to understand what people are doing, thinking, and how they interact with one another. This is no different. The way you interact with someone will change how you can interact with another person and so on.
As a lover of stealth games, and point and click games. I fell in love with this game. And I immediatly preordered it. After a long wait I could finally play this game. And i can tell you... It is great! also it took me a pretty long time to finish just the 1st chapter. And there's two more to come! What is also fun to mention, is that the graphics are very pretty, and match with todays standard. (what is also nice to mention, is that even though the graphics are very decent... It also works on a 7 year old rig!)
This game really brings back memories of the good ole days of the Sierra Online classics such as King's Quest and the Quest for Glory series. Oh and of course the Lucas Arts adventure games. The storyline is memorable, atmosphere is fantastically haunting and the graphics are on par by todays standards. I highly recommend this to seasoned veterans and newcomers alike.
