Reviews for Train Valley - Deluxe Edition

Combines the main game and its DLC

Train Valley Deluxe Edition is a good puzzle style game that combines the base game with its DLC that adds a new scenario and location and the game's soundtrack. Train Valley is more of a puzzle game than what you are lead to believe from the description which can make it sound more like a business management tycoon style train development simulator. You do have money to manage but the game is more about making sure your trains get to the right stations and switching the junctions for multiple trains that are all moving in real time. The game can take place in four different countries over a period of years with real events happening in between, the European sections can start at the earliest time in the 1830s and the Japanese section can go until 2020. During gameplay your money is constantly dropping requiring you to try to quickly send out your trains to reach the other stations in order to get paid. For the story you will have a set number of trains you need to move but additional challenges will require you to spawn additional trains requiring careful management. While the game is real time, you are able to pause the game to think or to quickly hit the needed track changes. If you like trains and puzzle style games this is an enjoyable game. Train Valley Germany adds another part of the world to play in with more difficult challenges. The original game gave you a European, USSR, American, and Japanese campaign to play, this one focuses on Germany with timeline events to fit with the location and historic events such as the Berlin Wall. If you were looking for additional content this is likely to be a good addition to the game for you, though the increased challenge might not make it for everyone, though they did update it after release to make it a little bit easier on people. The soundtrack isn't really something I would listen to on its own but you if you are interested in the DLC you will get it for a lower price than buying them separately.
