X-Com: Terror from the Deep is an absolute and unquestionable classic. Although it was its predecessor, Enemy Unknown/UFO Defense, that stirred the world of strategy games, it was Terror from the Deep that refined its concepts and made it a game so good that it is still played by many gamers despite its 20 years since the release. The core concept is well known: You run an organization protecting the Earth from aliens, develop its bases and technologies, but when the aliens attack, you gather your soldiers and rush to fight them in a turn-based tactical game similar to the Jagged Alliance series. The game was so good, that none of the sequels came even close to it until the latest Xcom Enemy Unknown was released. It's quite impressive, bearing in mind limitations of the computers of that time.
