DICE has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be getting a single player campaign. This follows the heavy criticism that the previous game received due to the lack of single player story mode.
Whilst this announcement had been teased by EA’s studio boss Patrick Söderlund a while back. This is the first time we have had official confirmation from the games developers, that the campaign mode will be going ahead.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Paul Keslin from DICE stated that: “Myself as a Star Wars fan, I want story, I want narrative, I want something I can play that immerses me in that world but gives me something to follow and chase.” The article then goes onto say that the campaign mode for Battlefront 2 has been “locked in“.
Kelsin also confirms that Motive Studios will be assisting DICE with the single play campaign for Battlefront 2. It was announced at E3 this year that Motive would be helping with the Battlefront 2 project, so it’s nice to see that they will be helping out with the games story.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is due for release at some point next year. It was confirmed by EA’s Blake Jorgensen that Battlefront 2 will be drawing its inspiration from the the likes of The Force Awakens, Rogue One and Episode VIII.
