Niantic have released a brand new Pokemon Go update. The update includes the usual fixes as well as one notable change.
The patch notes for the update have been posted on Niantic’s website. They explain in the notes that this update changes “distance-tracking to better account for GPS drift.” This is the term that is used for when your character walks around in circles whilst you are stationary. This is due to your GPS service not working as well as it should.
As players know, GPS drift can make a big difference for things such as egg hatching and walking with your Pokemon buddy. This is because the game thinks you are moving around when aren’t. The new update takes care of this, meaning you won’t be getting any progress whilst standing still.
The update also includes Apple Watch functionality and Minor text fixes. The full list of patch notes can be found here.
