Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has teased that the company may make a brand new Crash Bandicoot game in the future.
In an interview with gamesindustry.biz, Hirshberg stated that Activision are “experimenting” with Crash right now. He went onto say that he is not sure about the franchise yet, as the mass appeal for the N.Sane Trilogy only came from the small market of truly dedicated fans.
“We know there’s a vocal fanbase that wanted that to come back. But you never know if that is emblematic of a larger audience or just this niche, nostalgia-based community,” he said. “So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”
He went onto say that “Of course, we are always trying to find the next big thing. But our first priority is to make sure we are servicing the communities that we are already lucky enough to have.”
