Back in October, Rayman’s creator Michel Ancel unveiled an early prototype of the unreleased Super Nintendo version of the first ever Rayman game via his Instagram. Today game developer Omar Cornut, has uploaded the prototype to Dropbox for everyone to download.
Cornut, the founder of the studio Lizardcube stated that he had obtained the prototype after reaching out to Ancel. Cornut stated (via Polygon) that he “Just asked Michel who I know and he kindly let me borrow the cartridge to dump it.”
The Rayman Prototype can be played by using most Super Nintendo emulators, the game however, is far from complete. The download size for the game is just 1MB and contains one static area of a level which doesn’t feature any enemies or items.
