Nintendo Creators Program Stops Supporting YouTube Live

The Nintendo Creators Program, which was launched in 2015 as a way for content creators to focus on Nintendo games with Nintendo’s approval, does not support streaming platform YouTube Live now.

In an email to Nintendo-focused influencers, Nintendo said that  “Livestreaming on YouTube falls outside the scope of the Nintendo Creators Program. This means that you cannot broadcast content on YouTube Live from the account you have registered to the Nintendo Creators Program.”

Influencers have been given the option of either using an unregistered account to stream on YouTube Live, or re-registering their videos individually to a new channel. Doing this however would mean they take a drop in 10% revenue from all videos, as individual videos receive a 60% share of revenue, but registered channels get a blanket 70%.
