The Company That Had Its 200 ‘Fake Games’ Removed From Steam is Shutting Down

Silicon Echo Studios, the company that had 200 of it’s titles removed from Steam last month, has shut down.

A spokesperson for the company had defended their products, stating “People who are calling us asset flippers are correct only partially because we always made our own levels using the basic assets provided for us when we bought the asset kit and all of the kits had licenses allowing us to use them in commercial purposes. We have all the required bills to confirm our purchases on the Unity Asset Store.”

This is referring to the accusation that through ‘asset flipping’, Silicon Echo Studios had created multiple, basic and cheap games to give inexpensive access to Steam trading cards for resale.
