The Last Jedi comes to Star Wars Battlefront II

A free content update has brought the just-released Star Wars film, The Last Jedi, to Star Wars Battlefront II. Battlefront II players can now play as the film’s lead hero character, Finn, or as the villain Captain Phasma (who leads the First Order). Both characters unlock for free, without requiring players to spend any Credits.

A Last Jedi Season trailer gives a flavour of what the content update adds. It also brings two new locations from the film: players can now jump into Galactic Assault matches on Crait, or engage in Starfighter Assault matches above the Resistance base on the planet D’Qar.

Players will have to choose whether to fight for the Resistance or the First Order when they launch the Last Jedi Season – that will bring about recurring Challenges that reward players on both an individual and factional level.

The update also brings three new chapters for Star Wars: Battlefront II’s single-player campaign. Collectively titled Resurrection, they see the return of Iden Versio, following on from events depicted in the original single-player campaign, and tying in with some events from The Last Jedi.

The Last Jedi Season update should please Star Wars: Battlefront II players, after the game was embroiled in a loot box controversy in the lead-up to its launch.
