Dragonball FighterZ open beta dated, characters and gameplay detailed

Bandai Namco has revealed that Dragonball FighterZ – the forthcoming beat-em-up based on the popular anime series — will be given an open beta period in which gamers can try the game before it launches.

Dragonbal FighterZ’ open beta will commence on 14 January 2018 at 8am GMT, and will run until 8am on 16 January. In addition, people who pre-order the game will be able to jump into a closed beta at 8am GMT on 13 January, which will last until the open beta kicks off. The game itself is due to go on sale on 26 January 2018.

Plus the Japanese publisher has revealed that the Dragon Ball Super characters Beerus, Hit and Goku Black will feature in the game. Beerus specialises in attacks without any blind spots, and his super-move is called “God of Destruction’s Judgement”. Hit has a time-warping super move called “Death Blow” and Goku Black specialises in fighting from a distance, with long-range attacks.

Bandai Namco has also unveiled a gameplay element in the game which it calls the Shenron System. That system concerns Dragon Balls, seven of which appear during the game. If players collect them all, they will be able to choose between four extra special moves.

Dragonball FighterZ will come out on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can see an exclusive new trailer here.
