Rockstar Games has given Red Dead Redemption 2 a firm release date of October 26.
That’s a little later than originally mooted, and Rockstar acknowledged as much in an official statement, saying: “We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”
Rockstar Games still hasn’t shown the second instalment of the epic Western-themed open-world action-adventure game to anyone, but the release date announcement did at least come with some new screenshots which suggest it will look absolutely lush. As yet, the company has only stated that it will available for PS4 and Xbox One: if GTA V is a reliable yardstick, the PC version of the game is likely to arrive much later than its console siblings.
This year’s E3 Show in Los Angeles in June is likely to provide our first opportunity to see Red Dead Redemption 2 in action: naturally, we will share everything we learn about the game in the build-up to its launch with you.
