Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has sold over 500,000 copies in less than a week.
The first-person co-op melee action game based in Games Workshop’s popular fantasy universe burst through the half-a-million mark just days after going on sale for the PC. Developer Fatshark’s CEO Martin Wahlund said: “We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts. 500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”
Set during the apocalyptic end-times of the Warhammer universe, Vermintide 2 introduces Chaos as an enemy faction. Fatshark says that it will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with beta programmes for both versions scheduled to take place: “In the spring”. We’ll keep you posted with more precise details as and when they emerge, and you might want to keep an eye on the official website.
