E-sports company ESL has announced that its ESL One New York Counter-Strike: GO tournament will return this September.
ESL One New York will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, between 29 and 30 September 2018. It will feature the eight best CS:GO teams in the world, chasing a $250,000 prize-pool and a point towards the Intel Grand Slam, whose winner will net a $1 million bonus prize.
At the tournament, five of the teams will be invited, and the other three will earn their spots via qualifiers. It will kick off with a double-elimination group stage, followed by single-elimination best-of-three matches, leaving the top two teams to slug it out in a best-of-five Grand Final.
Ulrich Schultze, Senior VP of Product at ESL, said: “This is the third year in a row that we are bringing the world’s best CS:GO teams to the Big Apple for ESL One New York 2018. Thousands of fans have attended the biggest e-sports tournament on the East Coast in the past, and we cannot wait for another memorable event at the legendary Barclays Center.”
