Sony’s E3 2018 press conference revealed the existence of Nioh 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Control.
Prior to the Los Angeles show, Sony had revealed that at its press conference, it would concentrate on first-party or exclusive blockbusters the Last Of Us Part II, Spider-Man and Death Stranding, but beyond those games, it did have a few surprises up its sleeve.
Among which was the first appearance of Nioh 2. Unfortunately, all we got to see of the second instalment of the gothic, Dark-Souls like hack-n-slash published by Koei Tecmo and developed by Team Ninja was a short trailer, but that confirmed that Nioh 2 should be every bit as chilling and dark as its predecessor. Presumably it, too, will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, although that was not confirmed.
Ghost of Tsushima, at least, was the beneficiary of a lengthy gameplay trailer, showing a gorgeous game-world and bloody samurai-style combat. Developed by Sucker Punch and set on the island of Tsushima in 1274, it documents the fight back against the Mongol Invasion. Ghost of Tsushima will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive; check out its website for further details.
Perhaps the most intriguing game making its debut at Sony’s E3 2018 press conference was Control, developed by Remedy (of Max Payne and Alan Wake fame) and published by 505 Games. A third-person shooter, Control takes place in a constantly shape-shifting New York building; its protagonist, Jesse Faden, has telekinetic powers. You can visit Control’s official website for further details.
